Mindpuzzled vs Paired, honestly

Paired is an app made for couples, and a lot of it is genuinely good: one subscription covers both of you, the daily question is an easy habit, and there's a lot to do together. This page is for people who want to know what's different here, especially if the person you'd ask isn't keen. Our Assessment is free, and the Journey after it is $14.99 a month. It's a comparison, not a takedown.

What it isPairedA couples app: a daily question you both answer, and with the paid version more than 1,000 conversations, games, exercises and guided journeysMindpuzzledA Big Five personality Assessment for one person, then the Journey: a Chapter every week written from your Profile, with Together included for two

How they joinPairedA six-character code or a link you share; they get the app and pair with youMindpuzzledA link you send your own way. They take the four-minute Assessment, see their own Archetype, then choose whether to link. We never contact them first; the invite comes from you

Where Paired is better

Paired is made for two, and it shows. One subscription covers both of you once you're paired, so nobody pays twice, and the invite comes with something real: the other person gets the paid version too. Its daily question is a small, easy habit: you each add your answer, then see the other's and talk it over. And it has much more to do together than we do, with relationship therapists and academics behind it. If you both want a shared daily ritual, it's a good place to get one.

Where the approaches differ

Paired starts from the relationship: questions for two, answered every day. We start from each of you: five traits, read on your own first, and then the space between you. Your own traits predict how satisfied you are in a relationship better than how similar the two of you are (Dyrenforth et al. 2010). That's why the Two Profiles view reads each of you first, and why there's no compatibility score in it. A number would be neater. It would also be made up.

Nothing crosses between you unless you both choose it. Linking is mutual: nothing appears until they choose to link, and either of you can end it at any time, which removes the Two Profiles view and the pair actions for both. What's shared is where each trait sits, in three bands, the pair reading we write for you both, whether each of you did your half of a pair action, and, on a "one line each" pair action, both lines once you've both written one. Never your answers, your reflections or the rest of your Journey.

If they never join

Your Journey doesn't wait for anyone. It's complete on its own: a Chapter every week, written from your Profile and what you actually did, and one Daily Action a day. If you'd like someone alongside, you send one link, your own way. Their whole job is one four-minute Assessment, and they get their own free Archetype. Sending it earns you nothing, it never expires, and we never contact them first; the invite comes from you. If they link, your Chapters gain pair actions, small things to do together, each with a solo version, so no day waits on them (on every track but Career clarity, which stays yours alone). If they don't, nothing is missing. The Journey is $14.99 a month, with Together included.

What's free, what's paid, on both

Paired: a new conversation every day free; the paid version, $14.99 a month on the US App Store or yearly, covers you both once you're paired. Mindpuzzled: the Assessment, Archetype and insight free, for them too; everything after is the Journey, $14.99 a month by default, with the full price list on one screen before you pay. Together is part of it: nothing is charged to them and nothing extra to you.
