Terms

In plain words

  • The Assessment, your Archetype and one insight line are free.
  • The Journey is a subscription: $14.99 a month, or $7.99 a week, or $49.99 a year, charged through Polar. No trial. No price you weren't shown.
  • Cancel anytime. You keep access to the end of the period you paid for.
  • Refunds are requested in your account, from the subscription block on your Profile or the Manage or cancel page, within 14 days of your most recent payment. After that, write to us and we'll look at it.
  • It's not therapy, not a diagnosis, and not a promise about outcomes. It's a personality model and one small thing a day.
  • The words are written by AI from your scores. If a line is wrong, tell us.
  • Be a person. One account per person, no scraping, no reselling the content.

This summary is for reading. The full terms below are the binding ones.

Who we are and what these terms cover

These terms are an agreement between you and Think Code Ltd (trading as Mindpuzzled), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 11436741, whose registered office is at Southgate Chambers, 37-39 Southgate Street, Winchester, SO23 9EH, United Kingdom. In these terms "we" and "us" mean Think Code Ltd. They cover mindpuzzled.com, the Assessment, your Archetype, the Profile and the Journey, and the emails that come with them. By using the site, or by buying a subscription, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your data.

Write to us at hello@mindpuzzled.com, or by post to Southgate Chambers, 37-39 Southgate Street, Winchester, SO23 9EH, United Kingdom.

Who can use Mindpuzzled

Mindpuzzled is offered to people in the United Kingdom, the United States and other countries outside the European Union and the European Economic Area. You need to be at least 16 to use Mindpuzzled, and an adult where you live to buy a subscription. Once you sign in, your account is for you alone: one signed-in account per person. Keep access to the email address and sign-in you use with us; anyone who can open your email can sign in as you.

What's free, and what's paid

The Assessment, your Archetype, your insight line and a sample of the Journey's Daily Action cost nothing and need no card, and they stay yours whether or not you ever pay for the Journey.

The Journey is the paid part: your full Profile and a new Chapter every week with one Daily Action a day, for as long as your subscription runs. It is sold as a subscription at $14.99 a month, $7.99 a week or $49.99 a year. The Paywall shows the price before you pay, and Polar's checkout shows the final amount, including any sales tax or VAT, before you confirm. There is no trial.

Polar, our merchant of record

Polar is the merchant of record for the subscription: Polar sells it to you under its own buyer terms, takes the payment, charges any sales tax or VAT and issues your invoices, which you can open from Billing in the account menu. Polar's name appears on your card statement. Polar's buyer terms apply to the purchase, alongside these terms. We never see your card number.

Renewal

Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, a week, a month or a year depending on the plan you chose, and Polar charges the card on file at your plan's price until you cancel.

If a payment fails, Polar tries the card again for a while and your access stays open meanwhile. If the payment still doesn't go through, the subscription ends and so does your access to the Journey.

If our prices change, the subscription you already have keeps the price you signed up at for as long as it runs on the same plan.

Cancelling, pausing and changing plan

Cancel anytime: "Manage or cancel" on your Profile opens the cancel page, and Billing in the account menu opens Polar's billing page, where you can cancel too. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for and you're not charged again. You can turn the subscription back on before that date.

The cancel page may also offer a pause, a change of plan or, once, a lower price for a few months. Each one says exactly what it does and what it costs before you choose it, and none of them stops you cancelling instead.

When your access ends, your Archetype and insight line stay free, and your Profile and Chapters are kept, so they're there if you come back. Ask and we'll delete them instead (see the Privacy Policy).

Starting straight away

The Journey starts as soon as you pay, because you ask it to: the line under the Paywall's button says "By subscribing you agree to the Terms and ask for your Journey to start straight away.", and your Profile opens straight away.

Polar, as merchant of record, sells you the subscription under its own buyer terms, and those terms govern any right the law gives you to withdraw from the purchase, such as the 14 days a consumer in the UK or the EU may have. Nothing here takes away your rights as a consumer.

Not therapy, not a diagnosis

The Assessment is a 20-statement Big Five inventory built from public-domain items of the International Personality Item Pool (IPIP). It measures personality traits; it is not a medical or psychological assessment.

Nothing on Mindpuzzled is therapy, counselling, medical advice or a diagnosis, and nothing on it is a promise about how your life, your relationships or your career will turn out. If you're struggling, a person who can sit with you beats any app, this one included.

If you're in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number now. In the US you can call or text 988; in the UK you can call Samaritans on 116 123.

The words are written by AI

Your Archetype's name comes from your scores by a fixed rule. Your insight line, your Profile, and the Chapters and Daily Actions of the Journey are written by AI (OpenAI's models) from your scores and what you tell us. We check the writing against rules, but it can still be wrong, and it is not advice. Use your own judgement, especially before a decision about your health, your money, your work or someone else.

If a line is wrong, tell us: use "Disagree with a line? Tell us" where you see it, or write to hello@mindpuzzled.com.

Be a person

When you use Mindpuzzled, please don't:

  • open more than one signed-in account for yourself, or use someone else's;
  • take the Assessment on someone's behalf without their say-so, or invite anyone through Together who wouldn't want to be asked;
  • copy the site or its content with bots, scrapers or other automated tools;
  • sell, republish or pass off as your own the content we write, beyond sharing your own Archetype card and quoting your own Profile;
  • try to reach anyone else's data, break our security, or overload the site;
  • use Mindpuzzled to harass, threaten or deceive anyone.

If an account breaks these rules, we may suspend or close it. We'll tell you why, unless the law stops us.

What's yours, and what's ours

Your answers, your reflections and anything else you write stay yours. You let us store and use them to run Mindpuzzled for you, as the Privacy Policy describes.

The content we write for you is yours to read, keep, print and share for your own personal use, and the Archetype you were given is yours to share as you like. The site, its design, the Mascot, the names and descriptions of the Archetypes as a set, and the writing on the public pages belong to us. The 20 statements come from the public-domain International Personality Item Pool.

If you send us an idea or a suggestion, we may use it without owing you anything. We quote what you wrote on the site only if you ticked the box that lets us, with your first name and Archetype.

Changes to Mindpuzzled and to these terms

Mindpuzzled will change over time. We may add, change or remove features, but we won't take away the core of what a subscription you're paying for gives you in the middle of a period you've paid for.

When these terms change, the new version goes on this page with a new date. If a change affects a subscription you already have, we'll email you at least 30 days before it applies, and you can cancel before then.

If we ever stop offering the Journey, we'll tell you by email first and stop charging you.

If we decide to close Mindpuzzled, we'll tell you by email at least 30 days before it closes, stop all renewals straight away, and keep the service running until the closing date. This doesn't affect your statutory rights.

Our responsibility to you

We provide Mindpuzzled with reasonable care and skill. Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, we don't promise that it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors.

Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't let us limit, and nothing here takes away your legal rights as a consumer.

Apart from that, we're not responsible for losses we couldn't reasonably have foreseen, or for business losses: Mindpuzzled is for personal use. Our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to what you paid for your subscription in the 12 months before the claim.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to the courts of England and Wales. If you're a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, in the EU or in another country whose law protects you in ways these terms can't change, you keep that protection and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live.

If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
