Is it the job, or is it you?
Some of what you feel at work is the job. Some of it is how you're wired, and it would follow you to the next one. Twenty questions on the Big Five tell you which half to look at first.
The sentence no career test says
Part of how you feel about work is dispositional. Where your Neuroticism, Extraversion and Conscientiousness sit predicts job satisfaction across jobs — not one job, jobs. So if the dissatisfaction is partly yours, a new role carries it with you; and if it's mostly the conditions, you may not need a new role at all. Twenty questions won't settle it alone. They'll tell you which half to look at first.
What twenty questions can say about work. And can't.
Can
Which conditions you run well on — autonomy, pace, how many people, how much ambiguity — and which ones quietly cost you. That's what "fit" means here: environments, not job titles.
Can't
What you'd find interesting, what you're skilled at, what a role pays. We don't pretend to measure those. Interest is a separate thing; if you want it measured, that's a separate short set, after, and it says so.
What you get
Free: Your Archetype, named from your scores, and one line about you, written from your two most extreme traits.
If you go on: your Career Fit Brief in week 1, then a seven-day Energy Audit read back to you in your own words. After that, one of two things, depending on where you stand: a two-week Pivot Experiment you can run without quitting, or the ask you keep softening, written out. An interest map when you want it. Staying on purpose counts as a decision.
Twenty questions, not two hundred
Some of the big career tests run 60 to 90 minutes and ask for your income, your ethnicity and your parents' education before they show you anything. We ask twenty statements about how you live your week, and none of that.
The price, plainly
The Assessment and your Archetype are free, full stop. The Journey is $14.99 a month, or $49.99 a year, or $7.99 a week, the most expensive way to buy, if you'd rather start small. Cancel anytime, from your Profile: "Manage or cancel" opens a cancel page we built ourselves, and you keep everything until the end of the period you paid for. No trial that quietly renews. You'll see every number on one screen before you pay anything.

The Energy Audit. Seven days, two lines a night.
Log what drained you and what gave something back, tag each one, and sort your own week into what looks like the job and what looks like you. Paper, no account.
What's inside
- Seven daily pages: two lines, four tags, one minute
- A read-it-yourself page: how to count the tags and what the counts tend to mean
- The job-or-wiring sort, and the one question to answer at the end
One email with the PDF. Unsubscribe in one tap. No card, no timer.
This is the template. The part where your five traits explain the pattern is what the Journey does — $14.99 a month after a free Assessment, price shown before you pay.
Will it tell me which job to take?
No. It tells you which conditions to look for in any job, and which to avoid. Titles are yours to choose.
I don't want to quit. I want to feel okay where I am.
Then this is written for you: sort what's the job from what's you, change one condition in place, and make the ask you keep softening.
Is this a career test?
It's a personality Assessment — the Big Five, the model psychologists actually use. The career part is what it says about the conditions you work well in.
How is this different from a career test?
Most are one-shot: a list, a PDF, done. This reads you first, then writes a Chapter every week that turns it into something you did. See us side by side with a popular career site →
What does it cost, honestly?
Free Assessment and Archetype. $14.99 a month after, if you want the rest. Cancel anytime.
